Republic of Croatia Government Commission for Persons Missing in the Homeland War

The Republic of Croatia Government commission for persons missing in the Homeland War is an advisory expert body. Its functions include: a) proposing to the government measures regarding the gathering of information on missing persons and on sites of mass and individual graves; b) monitoring activities undertaken by State administration bodies and other bodies whose responsibilities include dealing with the issue of missing persons, and proposing to the government measures for improving the effectiveness of their work; c) monitoring the work of international organisations whose responsibilities include dealing with the issue of missing persons, and making proposals to the government on the modes of cooperation with them; d) monitoring activities of associations that involve families of missing persons and associations dealing with the protection of the rights of missing persons and their families, and making proposals to the government on the method of cooperation with them; and e) following the experience of other States and international organisations that deal with the tracing of missing persons and, if relevant, proposing to the government to establish cooperation with them.
